Liz Cirelli is known for her
musical diversity and currently has 3 different dance projects on the go. As
Liz Cirelli, she is known for her truly mesmerizing and melodic
techno whereas her Dextress project allows her to fuel her passion
for sleazy & kinky electro. Lastly, but by no means least, there's
Plastiq Chic which is centred around nu disco, 80's-influenced French
house, and the more commercial side of dance music.
Liz Cirelli's first solo release Ultra Violet on Loulou Records,
gained support from the likes of John Acquaviva, Kolombo,
Tony Senghore, Noir, Kid Dub & Tim
Green. Liz’s fun & innovative remix of D Dub’s Voodoo (Takt)
was fully supported by Martin Eyerer & Stephan Hinz
and most recently, Liz’s release Cepheid, on Mirabilis gained full
support from Dubfire, Nick Warren, Mark
Knight, Dumb Dan & Henry Saiz to name but a
few.
During 2009 Liz began working on a
violin-infused techno project with the hugely talented violinist, Minski
Revolver. Experimenting with classical music and techno, they are
producing a variety of innovative and captivating tracks. A 3-track EP is
now out on Henry Saiz’s Natura Sonoris imprint and has been supported
by Pete Tong, Laurent Garnier, Hernan Cattaneo, Sasha, Digweed, Agoria &
Nick Warren, with Cattaneo placing the title track of the EP,
Shiver, at no.4 in his December 2009 charts. Their second EP is due out
early next spring on Mirabilis.
With further interest from John Acquaviva, Dextress has two
releases on Definitive Recordings - Penthouse Bitch
& Perverted Ways (both collaborations with Kid Dub).
Perverted Ways
made its way into the Beatport Top 20 electro house charts and reached Top
40 in the tech house charts.
With a background in radio, Liz has moved into the world of music
journalism and is one of the founding members of Word & Rhythm Magazine
– an online publication written solely by dj’s and producers.
Enjoying a great passion for
film scoring and writing music for media, she has recently finished writing
the score for a documentary about artist & director Julian Schnabel.
